Fowler Bell PLLC was pleased to be a sponsor of the Lexington Challenger Pro Tennis Tournament held August 1-8, 2022 at the Hillary J. Boone Tennis Complex located on the University of Kentucky’s campus. On Monday, August 1, 2022, the Lexington Challenger paid tribute to Guy Colson by naming the women’s trophy in his honor in perpetuity. Pictured is Guy’s family that was in attendance for the presentation as well as Fowler Bell’s Managing Partner, Taft McKinstry, and Program Director Brooks Lundy.
Guy was an integral part of building the Challenger and helping it obtain nonprofit status. Even as chairman, Guy was always the first to ask what needed to be done and step in and do it, “even if was clearing plates off the table after dinner in the sponsor tent,” said tournament director Brooks Lundy. “He was always there to help fill any gaps that needed filling. You would have thought the tournament was the only thing going on in his life, but we all know that wasn’t the case.” Guy was a very successful lawyer, a father and grandfather, a husband, an athlete, a traveler, a friend and a person of faith. And through his thoughtful, kind, and genuine manner, he contributed to the sense of community in every endeavor he undertook. He is sorely missed.
