The Presentation of the Portrait of Fayette Circuit Judge James D. Ishmael, Jr. (retired) occurred on Thursday, July 29, 2021, in the Multi-purpose Room of the Fayette Circuit Court.  Judge Ishmael was a partner at Fowler Bell PLLC from 1995 – 2004 when he was then appointed to serve the remaining unexpired term of the Third Division of the Fayette Circuit Court, replacing Honorable Rebecca Overstreet who had taken Senior Status.  He was elected with opposition in November 2004 and re-elected to serve full terms in 2006 and again in 2014 without opposition. Judge Ishmael retired from the position as the oldest sitting Circuit Judge in Fayette Circuit Court history effective the end of 2017.

Christopher Colson, Member of Fowler Bell PLLC and current President of the Fayette County Bar Association, was honored to participate in the program by presenting the portrait to Judge Ishmael.

Congratulations to our own Judge Ishmael on his retirement.
